Vic: Howard govt cannot hide truth over IR laws - ACTU
The ACTU says the federal government can't hide the truth about its unfair industrial
relations laws .. amid a controversy over a new television advertisement.
According to Fairfax newspapers .. Workplace Minister JOE HOCKEY has pulled the ad
.. Protection for under-18s .. off air because of the history of one of the actors ..
DAMIEN RICHARDSON.
Mr RICHARDSON .. who until recently had a painting business that employed young people
.. is being investigated by the Workplace Ombudsman over allegations he failed to pay
workers on occasion.
Mr HOCKEY has also reportedly ordered a review by the Workplace Ombudsman of all other
actors in Workplace Authority ads.
ACTU President SHARAN BURROW says changing names or taking ads off air can't hide the
fact the WorkChoices laws leave young and vulnerable workers exposed to exploitation.
