Vic: Dog attack victim sustains serious facial injuries
MELBOURNE, Dec 30 AAP - A man lost part of his nose and suffered other serious facialinjuries today when he was attacked by a pit bull terrier.
The 26-year-old was taken to Monash Medical Centre following the attack at Devon Grove,Oakleigh, in Melbourne's south this afternoon, before being transferred to Dandenong Hospitalfor facial surgery.
Metropolitan Ambulance service duty team manager David Hadj (Hadj) said the man sustainedserious facial injuries and had lost part of his nose.
A Monash City Council spokesman said council animal management officers caught thepit bull terrier, which had been trapped inside the house, and transported it to BurwoodRSPCA, where it was put down.
It is believed the man was playing with the dog at a friend's house when it bit him on the face.
