Japanese Fast Food Enjoys Rapid Growth in Thailand.

Oct. 18--The Japanese fast-food market in Thailand is poised to grow by at least 35 percent next year, making it one of the fastest growing segments in the restaurant industry, according to an executive of Ajisen Ramen, the latest ramen (Japanese noodle) chain to enter the local market.

Consumer awareness of quick-service Japanese food had not reached the level of western chains such as McDonald's or KFC, but rapid growth in the past year showed that the potential was great, said Rumpa Aukkarasaksri, general manager of Ajisen Thailand Co.
